Today I went to Trader Joe’s for my weekly shopping trip. Since I didn’t really need to buy too much, I had some time to look around and shop. I found some great new things, and I thought I’d share them with you.
These little treats are delish! 2 rice balls are 2.5 points, and oh so good. They’re stuffed with fontina cheese and just hit the spot. Sort of like mozzarella sticks, only with more of a crunch. These would be a great appetizer for a cocktail party, nice for a light lunch along with a salad, or as a filling snack.
These Korean-style sesame marinated beef ribs are so tender and delicious. I grilled them for 5 minutes per side on my outdoor grill and they were flavorful and juicy. They have a nice hint of ginger as well as a few other spices. 4oz = 6 points, and well worth it. The thing I like about this packaging is that it doesn’t have a lot of waste and it comes with so much meat. I froze half of the uncooked meat and grilled the other half, so I had enough cooked for tonight for 2 dinners.
I paired these ribs (which I carefully measured on my food scale to make sure I got 4oz) with jasmine rice and steamed bok choy. I know that brown rice would’be been a better choice, but I was in the mood for some sticky white rice tonight. It was delicious and so satisfying:
I should probably mention that I always eat my dinner on smaller plates so that it appears like there’s more food. Sometimes you’ve got to trick your mind into believing you’re eating more than you really are.
The rest of my purchases were my normal items: Fage Greek yogurt, apples, bananas, pita chips, light string cheese, etc. What have you found recently at your grocery store?
